Someone has finally stepped up in trying to create positive change for our city Toronto. It is called the Toronto Etiquette Project and it is targeted towards disrespectful, inconsiderate and ungrateful Torontonians.
Mr.Rouleau is 29 and has moved here from Saskatchewan in 2009. He enjoys his new adopted city but finds at times people can be really rude. I think everyone in the general area can agree with Christopher.
Christopher made a really good point. “I think people sometimes just forget that there are other people around them. and it’s funny in a city as big as Toronto, as populated as Toronto, that we forget that.”
With Mr.Christopher Rouleau and his graphic design expertise he has created the Toronto Etiquette Project to try to create more kindness in a huge city. Christopher has designed 5 cards that help remind people of their courtesy level. These cards include topics like transit users, Torontonian, cell phone users, pedestrian and human beings. All these cards include check boxes where the individual can check off what they think isn’t right and pass it on to the person committing the act in a friendly manner. These cards include things such as holding doors, playing loud music, smoking near doors, cell phone usage, walking while texting and to treat everyone with kindness.
You can download and print these cards and hand them out politely hand them out. Christopher advised them not to put yourself in any danger and hand them out in a discrete way so you don’t offend anyone nor put yourself in an unsafe position. This is a fun way to attempt to create positive change in the people of Toronto.
I also wanted to say bravo to Christopher as he has taken the initive to attempt such a great change. We all can agree that what Christopher see’s in Toronto, we all see it, everyday. I live just outside Toronto and I dislike going to the city because of this reason. When I do go to the city of Toronto I always leave miserable because I can never wrap my head around all the rude people in that city. I avoid going to Toronto as much as I can and would rather go anywhere else. If Toronto became a little
more polite I would consider going more but until change happens I will remain
to only go when absolutely needed!
