The Nissan Juke-R Is Now a Reality

The Juke-R has been a concept in the making for the past year with engineers from Nissan in the UK. The British team combined two of Nissan’s leading innovative vehicles, the Nissan GTR and the Nissan Juke and came up with the world’s fastest crossover as the Nissan Juke-R.

The British team from the UK had taken some steam from headquarters in Japan as they felt they were not properly informed on the making of the Juke-R and was not impressed by it’s “after hours” production.  Over time as the British team were developing the Juke-R, video posts were uploaded online regularly on the production of the vehicle. Since the public eye has seen the concept of the Nissan Juke-R, Nissan fans really grew to love the vehicle making Nissan really consider putting it into production. This was a project that was never meant to be as big as it became and never had thought the Juke-R would ever be produced. Well it has happened. The Nissan Juke-R is real!

The Nissan Juke-R is the world’s fastest crossover that has ever been made and for Nissan this is another bragging right they have been able to claim. The Juke-R as we know is a cross between Nissan’s super car; the GTR and the newest Nissan family member, the Juke. With the combination the two vehicles the Nissan Juke-R will be equipped with the 2012 Nissan GTR 3.8L turbocharged engine producing 545 hp.

Because the Nissan Juke-R is really one of a kind, you won’t be seeing them at dealers as a special order is needed to be placed by the customer in order to own one. Canadian pricing has not yet been established for the Juke-R but is suspected to be more than the 2012 Nissan GTR base model at $109,000. The Juke-R is being built by order from serious buyers and the best way for Canadians to order a Nissan Juke-R is to contact Nissan U.K. directly, not their local dealer, at

Is my Nissan or Infiniti Being Recalled!?

It’s all over the news, Nissan is recalling Jukes, Altima’s, Versa’s and Infiniti’s left right and center! As a consumer this can be scary news, especially when the recall sounds unsafe! As a consumer in today’s day and age you need to remember to take recall announcements with a grain of salt because it doesn’t always affect your vehicle or region. Consumers today have access to all sorts of information via the web and although these information sources are great and can be informative, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate what applies to you.

One thing about recall’s is that consumers have the right to be informed and a lot of the times the consumers are informed before the dealer so don’t be surprised if you call your dealer in a panic to set an appointment for a recall you heard on the news and your dealer doesn’t exactly know what you’re talking about, this is normal. The dealer still may be able to give you some guidance by requesting your VIN number, scanning it through a recall check system and then advising you if your vehicle has been affected or if there are any outstanding recalls for your vehicle.

Nissan Canada will notify consumers by mail that has been affected by the recall by the vehicle VIN numbers that were recalled. Nissan will also notify dealers so this way dealer’s can prepare and order parts to fulfill the recall promptly.

Recently, there has been a lot of news about recalls from many manufacture’s. Recall’s don’t always mean that your vehicle posses an unsafe component that may cause harm, injury or death. Many of the times manufactures will voluntarily call recalls for quality assurance purposes. If they see a common issue with a product they may respond in a announcing a recall to ensure the quality of their customers vehicles.

Nissan Canada is Now Taking Orders for the 2012 Nissan Leaf

It’s about time! We have all been patiently waiting for the Nissan Leaf to become available to Canadians. This week Nissan Canada has opened the market for the 2012 Nissan Leaf to be more accessible to Canadian citizens wanting to purchase this intelligent purely electric vehicle.

Currently there are 27 Nissan dealerships that are certified to carry and sell this vehicle but the number of dealerships will increase once the market demands more of the Leaf. The Nissan Leaf was available to Canadians before Nissan Canada announced an open market for 27 dealerships but wasn’t the most traditional way of purchasing a vehicle as you had to become a “hand raiser” with an online registration form where after you were then provide with further information on the leaf.

Monday December 12, 2011Nissan Canada launched an online registration form to consumers who hadn’t signed up previously to receive information on the Nissan Leaf. Potential consumers will need to pay a $99 refundable reservation fee online along with booking an assessment for the electric vehicle 240V charger. An electrician will then inspect the house to see if the house is equipped with proper wiring to support the charging system.

Installation can cost anywhere from $1,500-$3,500 depending on the type of charger being installed and if there is any work needed on the household to safely install the charger. The initial cost of purchasing a Nissan Leaf seems to be pricey but it’s in the long run where it pays off, not the mention the Ontario government offers a $8,500 incentive for consumers purchasing the Nissan Leaf. The Nissan Leaf will start at $38,395 MSRP. As more Nissan Leafs get on the road the price of the Leaf will decrease.

Nissan LEAF-Awarded Car of the Year Japan 2011-2012

The second largest Japanese auto maker, Nissan has been proudly honoured to receive the Car of the Year award  for their 100% electric Nissan LEAF.  The announcement was made during the 42nd annual Tokyo Motor Show and Nissan is thrilled to receive the award as it has been a long time coming since an electric vehicle has been awarded such a significant award.

If you didn’t already know, the Nissan LEAF is purely electric with zero CO2 emissions making it ideal for the environment but also as a car owner since you won’t have to visit the pumps anymore. Not to mention this car is so smart you can actually check the vehicles battery life by your mobile phone!

The LEAF gets its power from strategically placed lithium ion batteries throughout the vehicle which creates a high powered electric motor being able to provide the most responsive acceleration performance. The lithium ion batteries are so strong they will be able to provide electricity to houses!

Nissan expects the electric market to grow from .5% to 10% over the next ten years. “Wehave sold 20,000 Nissan LEAFs and also delivered on our promise of affordable,
zero-emission mobility on a global scale. This award is as much a win for Nissan as it is for our customers,” stated by Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn. “All these accolades show that zero-emission vehicles can clearly becompetitive alternatives to conventional ones.”

Congratulations Nissan! They continue to strive for excellence in all the products they create and are creating a great leading example for other manufacturers!
